Instalment Trading  is a form of buying goods on credit. The customer is not the ownership of the items. The buyer can make the payments in a fixed number of instalmets over a stated period of time (e.g. 3 years) plus interest to the seller.
There are 2 types of instalment trading : hire purchase and deferred payment.

Task:

  • differentiate the nature of hire purchase and deferred payment

Introduction

TodaysMeet is a good way to have a quick conversation in a relatively quiet place. It is very simple to set-up and user friendly. It is also free..

Lets try it on:

One advantage of using TodaysMeet is just that teacher or instructors can make revision through this tools. Let’s make revision very fun and interesting. But yet efficient!! Just sat down and type the answer according to what the questions are being asked.

We have try it when we are doing revision with our ICT lecturer and everybody were enjoying and give answer based on what we have learnt.

Next year, i am gonna use this tools for revision session where it might help my students to  be collaborative, autonomy, efficient and they will enjoy the opportunities followed by learning through fun way.

Prezi introduction video. See how you can bring presentations back to life with Prezi. Present your ideas on a large canvas, and show their relationship with scale and placement. Try Prezi now for free on Prezi.com

Here is attached of Prezi that i have did on my topic (Insurance). I do Prezi as mind mapping presentation.

http://prezi.com/lmmh7yqn2xtq/insurance/

I can ask my students to do Prezi for their own goods. Let them have opportunities to create mind mapping on Prezi.com. Then They can share the link with the teacher.

What went well:

  1. The starter; I show the video clip based on main services and other services provided by the bank in Brunei Darussalam
  1. The teaching materials were fine, and help to develop understanding.
  1. I chose to have activities in-group of 4. I tried to make my students to brainstorming about credit card, ATM and online banking by using their own words. This is because I want to see their understanding on credit card, ATM and online banking
  1. My tone of voice was vary along the lesson which is good in conducting lesson
  1. Term of vocabulary; I did explain the meaning after asking students the answer. Some vocabulary term, they managed to define
  1. My delivery of language was fine and able to be understandable.
  1. I did mention about online discussion where the students need to post the answer on activity 2 on my wordpress. I explain step by step on how to do it.

What went not well:

  1. There is no objectives of the lesson hence my students a bit clueless
  1. I show the video clip and at the same time try to answer the question in the sheet.
  1. Poor time management as most of the time was fully occupied by the activities
  1. Lack of mobility, where in group discussion I didn’t move and listen to their discussion. I just standing at back of the group
  1. The classwork which I wanted them to do was given as home work due to not enough time as more focus on activity 3 ; brainstorming
  1. I did not give the real life examples when applying activity 3. It must be asking into small and simple question ( break it to easy question), so students able to understand
  1. I did give praise to my students but then only a few times delivered
  1. I fully recap the today’s lesson during the bell rang ( in a rush)
  1. Use of line spacing in the classwork’s sheet
Target of improvements:

  1. Improve the start of the lesson. State the objectives of the lesson so that students knew what they will learnt and looking today
  1. For activity 1; active learning. Next time lesson I need to play the video clip once so that students knew what is all about. Then play for second time and this time students must fill the answer in the sheet given
  1. Mobility, next time during group discussion I need to move around and listen to the group discussion
  1. In my lesson plan, I need to set times for teacher’s activity and students’ activity so that I was always on time
  1. Always make positive reinforcement and motivate them to answer the question though my students cannot give the correct answer. (ask another to help him or her)
  1. During questioning, I should break or chunk the questions into simple parts. This is easy to make my students understanding and able to answer
  1. When giving them sheet, I need to give line spacing to avoid compact ( avoid to use 2 column, USE double side format, so it is clear and not compact)
  1. Need to group my students into group of 5 since it is a big class

What went well:

  1.  1 minute do recap previous lesson. Students managed to answer on the purpose of advertising.
  2. The teaching materials were fine, and help to develop understanding.
  3. State main objectives of the lesson to ensure students know what they need to focus for today’s lesson.
  4. I engaged my students through visual learning. The purpose is that, to show them the real life example of media advertisement.
  5. At first, I let my students to see and pay attention on the video itself. Then, I played it for second time and instruct students to answer the questions on the sheet.
  6. During group discussion on “advantages and disadvantages of media display”, I did go around and hear their conversation to ensure they are discussing the questions among their friends.
  7. During questioning, I ask each student to share their answer and they manage to give the correct answer.
  8. For today activity, I ask students to do their own presentation. This is to sharpen their communication skills as well as collaboration skills and to assess how far they have do their own findings.
  9. I handle my time effectively and I ask them to do their “homework” in class as they have extra 10 minutes left.
  10. 10.  I do reviewing my lesson and students are able to give their answers based on today lesson.
  11. Term of vocabulary; I did explain the meaning with them.

What went not well:

  1. Class management, some of my students tend to chat with their friend next to them especially at the back.
  2. During questioning, some of my students are shy to project their voice loud. The answer is not clearly hears.
  3. During presentation, the audience i.e. students don’t ask questions (assuming that they are understand but yet, some aren’t.)
  4. During questioning, I don’t write their answer on the board
  5. No presentation’s creativity. Only one group is able to share their creativity using computer

Target of improvements:

  1. Need to improve class management; separate the students who are talkative from their close friend.
  2. During questioning, I need to share students’ answer with others and I need to write down the correct answer on the board to avoid spelling error.
  3. During questioning, I should break or chunk the questions into simple parts (for better understanding).
  4. Need to have paused duration. After showing the video, I should ask general question such as “what is all about?”, “Did you ever see these types of advertisement?” Where? When? Etc
  5. Mobility, especially during group discussion I need to move around and listen to the group discussion.
  6. In my lesson plan, I should always set times for teacher’s activity and students’ activity to ensure I was always on time.
  7. Always make positive reinforcement and motivate them to answer the question though my students cannot give the correct answer (ask another to help him or her).
  8. Need to group my students into group of 5 since it is a big class.
  9. Ways to improve presentation:
  • Those students are not take participate in giving the ideas- ask he or she to present to make sure they learn collaboration or team work.
  • Students can bring the “sample” of advertisement along to help them in presentation.
  • Make ”U” shape sitting arrangement so that everybody were facing to the presenters and listen to them.
  • Perhaps conduct 2 hours tutor in a month to do powerpoint, so that they are well prepared with the presentation.
  • Or we can use 2 hours extra class for those who have trouble with their presentation – helping and guiding them.
  • Powerpoint can make their work easy and efficient time rather than writing on the white board – enhance creativity skills.
  • It is better to select one or two groups to do presentation based on specific topic by giving presentation’s criteria to students.
